Exit Interview: Jack Hoffbuhr, AWWA

By Katherine Schaefer As a young man, Jack Hoffbuhr traveled to the Peruvian Andes with the Peace Corps to build a road, but the project was stymied because of the lack of clean water. That was the beginning of his career dedicated to clean drinking water. “When I got [to Peru] I discovered that what they needed was safe drinking water because they couldn't even work on a road until they weren't debilitated by disease caused by poor drinking water,” Hoffbuhr said.
